The Wildsee (wild lake) in the Black Forest was the destination for a long hike today. It’s a beautiful small lake, but you can’t access it any closer than you see in the picture as it’s a protected area. The lake is located in a bog that is very sensitive and you can only walk on a specially constructed walkway.
There were a lot of people in the area, but for the rest of the hike we only saw some hikers and cyclists, but overall not that many people.
There were parts I would enjoy doing again, but I don’t think I will ever do that particular complete route again as there was one path that was fairly overgrown and no longer in good shape. Unfortunately that was towards the end of the hike and there was no sensible option to avoid that path.
But all in all it was a great and memorable hike.
