Even Hotter

101F at 5:00 pm....the temps will drop to 63F by morning, then back up to only 98F tomorrow. Ugh.

I got out for an early walk this morning, and walked by my former garden. I've been consulting with the new owner, who is learning how to take care of the garden really fast! She's also learned the irrigation system finally, since the garden was well soaked this morning! Here's a rose that my friend Phil gave me - it was from a cutting in his compost pile :-)

I came home, watered all of the gardens, then worked on the final plant id test for my class. The last session is next Wednesday and I'm kind of sad about it.

Later, I picked up a friend for happy hour - we went to a local restaurant and ate an early dinner at happy hour prices ;-) It was great to catch up with her - it's been almost  6 months, and sadly, her husband passed away shortly after the last time I saw her. She's doing really well coping, on the face of it, although I'm sure that much of the time she's very sad. She's got a new 3 month old puppy named Sunshine, who is adorable, and I'm sure a huge distraction.
