New Garden Resident
I slept soundly last night - finally. Hubby still beat me up by two hours. After his morning prayers/breakfast, he used the video I sent him and started repairs on our garage personnel door. Rain splashes on the bottom section and rots the wood. He tries to keep it patched but I think a new door is the next repair. I was very energetic after my porch breakfast. I completely cleaned our front door and porch and then the garage personnel door (both with windows), and washed all outside light fixtures. It’s nice to get to those items that are often overlooked. At some point, this friendly turtle came out of my front garden to say howdy. Momma got up in between my project so I took a break and made her breakfast. Parker stopped by and spent some quality time with his great grandmother. Hubby trimmed around everything on our property. Then he cleaned the sidewalks and driveway with the blower. What a job. We ate a quick lunch, I helped Momma with her shower/dressing for Mass, and we finished our last load of laundry. I was ready for a rest when it was time for Mass and was way too tired to cook. We surprised Skylar at the restaurant she manages (Popeye’s). They offer nothing on my diet but we’ve promised her we’d visit and tonight was perfect. I am delighted she was chosen to move to our area when the management position became available. Hubby was supposed to stay with Jamie’s dogs during the “PyroJam” but Abi just texted to say she’d be there with them during the scary loud fireworks event. Kristen toured more homes today. I think she has found a great one. It is further away from us but in a very nice quiet neighborhood. Brooklyn played her first high school soccer game this afternoon. It was just a scrimmage and her team won 1-0. Kim said she had an incredible save. To be chosen varsity goalie as a Freshman is quite an honor. Can’t wait to go to her games. Kim wanted her first game to be without a lot of fanfare so she’d be less stressed. I understand. It’s recliner time for this crew. Wishing you some resting time this weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “Try to be like the turtle - at ease in your own shell.” - Bill Copeland
