Gingerbread House
We spent the morning with Essex friends, J&M, at their hut on the beach at Wrabness. Our friends D&K from Shropshire who have been friends of J&M for many years were here too, staying in their campervan in the field next door. So a lovely friends' reunion was the order of the day with strong coffee, delicious Brownies and other delights, great conversation and lots going on on the water.
It was late afternoon when we said goodbye to our Essex friends, but will be seeing more of D&K when we're back home.
We took a detour back to our campsite through some pretty villages. Leaving Wrabness we came across this amazing Grayson Perry house, my blip. You can stay here for between £400-£500 per night, minimum stay 2 nights. More info about it here. Then a stroll round some parts of the historic port of Harwich. I loved the Harwich Kindertransport sculpture.
On our travels today I've seen, Peacocks, seagulls, a covey of Red Legged Partridge running in front of the car, funny little birds who seem to prefer to run rather than fly! a barn owl, a wedding bus depositing guests, the bride and groom, pretty villages with stunning cottages and gardens, and an air ambulance transporting its sad cargo to a land ambulance.
It has been one of those memorable days.
Extras: Friends (Mr&Mrs HB, Mike, Karen, Jill and Dave). Kinder - Transport and Seagulls
