Sick Laptop

My main laptop (c2019) has a system drive for Windows (256GB) and a data drive for data and I have also added a Linux partition to make it dual boot (1TB).

It has been struggling for a while as the system drive keeps on filling up with Microsoft and Adobe's updates and annoying habit of resetting preferences when an update is installed, moving things that I had put onto the data drive back to the system drive.

The solution arrived today, a replacement 1TB drive for the system drive.

Migrating all the data over is quite straightforward, and made easier by having the ability to boot into Linux. So it was into Linux, run the DD command to create an image of the entire system drive (including its hidden partitions) and then I'll be ready to swap the drive and restore the saved image to the new drive. Once that is done, a few tweakes to use all of the new drive and I'll be up and away!
