Abernethy
Today was focussed on a karate seminar (a open training session for multiple clubs given by a guest sensei) near Worcester. Four hours of training under the skilful guiding hand of Iain Abernethy, 8th Dan black belt (he's the one with the black belt that's so old it's wearing back to white again).
Six of us from our club went along, three from the Upton group, two from Cheltenham, and our own sensei Nikki.
I wouldn't have believed 4 hours of training, with 10 minutes for lunch, could pass so quickly. I may ache a bit tomorrow.
The day was rounded off with a display from a local Gatka club. Gatka is the primary Sikh martial art and they demonstrated a wide range of 'interesting' weapons at very high speed, while we tucked into samosas that they'd brought along.

I liked the message on the (school hall) wall too:
Today you are You,
that is truer than true.
There is no one alive
who is Youer than You.
- Dr Suess.
