The sun returned. The temperature soared.

No sign of the much needed rain here yet. I heard how Scotland is also suffering water shortages despite the rain there. We walked before lunch before it got too hot. We enjoyed the garden shade in the afternoon. I had a voluntary shift in town this evening. I was also pleased to see The Guardian had published my short article I wrote for them last week. It was about one of my favourite railway journeys. Trains are back - even when they are on strike!
