Johnstown Castle
Johnstown Castle was advertising an Artisan Market today.
So after breakfast, we meandered down there, paid our €8 each entry fee, and had a look. Not very inspiring. A little bit better than the Craft Market at the Fleadh. And we did chat to someone who runs pottery workshops, which might be fun to attend.
We then walked slowly round the lake, stopping to admire various things - lovely fungus on a chopped down log - see extra, peacocks and peahen, and one little peachick! Also nice ferns growing in the wall. And a little brown diving duck - subsequently identified as a little grebe.
At the far end of the lake we sat for a while and admired this view of the castle.
We purchased some plants in their plant sales area, and stopped off at Whitford House Hotel on the way home for late lunch - which was a carvery. Not as nice as many of the meals we've had there in the past.
This evening, I've been looking back at old blips again, improving the tagging.
