Verona Day 5
Up and out (fairly) early - to the Tourist Info to find out about visiting the Dolomites. Too far, really, for a day trip.
We wandered round, and came across a wee cafe right outside a big church, so we had a ‘brioche de crema’ (custard filled croissant) and watched all the good folk trooping into church.
Onwards, and we came across the beautiful pasta shop that we visited a couple of years ago on the food tour.
THEN we came across the best one. A tiny cafe/wine bar with masses of beautiful freshly made crostini of all sorts. We had to stay, and we had to sit inside, it was just so … well, Italian! Suddenly, it was mobbed! Dogs too. We’ll be back…
Back to the hotel for rest and recuperation (a glass of fizz and a snooze). We’re very excited about tonight’s performance. With actual seats.
Later: Fabulous performance. Extraordinary costumes, including ‘naked’ people. Terrific stage management, with artists coming up from underneath the stage. Very late home!
