Copacabana Palace

It felt a bit like Christmas Day today because we usually come here then! Even the live music was the same band and when they started playing Corcovada, we both teared up! It was the song that got a big emotional reaction when it was played on Christmas Day after the pandemic, and it still does it for us when we’re here.

The terrace restaurant was busy - glad we booked - and a few tables of birthday celebrations added to the atmosphere. They do an excellent Sunday buffet, almost the same as Christmas but without the turkey.

Walked back home along the front in the late afternoon. We’ve just had our usual games of Yahtzee. I’m falling behind.
