Gently down the stream

All about the light

Today I once again had a very short walk, just a meander down Tom's track and about halfway  along I suddenly realised that in that shady lane the subject I was really photographing was not wildlife but the light.  It was very beautiful, coming through the trees in intense bursts.  So  here, beside the Nuns' Stream, are a beady-eyed woodpigeon, purple loosestrife (which seems to have been flowering for months), water mint and umbellifer seedheads - a very typical mix for that particular place.

I've spent the rest of the day continuing with the garden - much of which is now done.  It's been extremely hot - and so have I - but I think by tomorrow it will be cooling.  We might even get a little rain.

So that's the end of this long weekend.  A lot of folks will be back to work and I should get back to proper walking, though I have to say the last 10 days have knocked the stuffing out of me rather.

Enjoy your evening  xx
