Best foot forward...
It a very special anniversary today. It's eight years today since this happened! :-)) Eight years since we collected Lola from our friend Carole and brought her back to her forever home. The best decision we ever made!
I can't believe it's eight years. It's gone by in a blink. What a roller coaster those first few weeks were! A baptism of fire with this golden marshmallow who was a sassy besom right from the start. But oh so loving too. And with those brown eyes and that smile, she is forgiven everything :-)
She woke us this morning barking outside our bedroom door. She rarely comes upstairs but she clearly thought it was time we were up. D let her in and she leapt straight onto the bed and gave me a slobbery kiss. I've had worse wake up calls :-)
Let her snuggle beside us for a little while then she was up and raring to go. Her zest for life is a joy to behold and it's infectious :-) She's had two romps on Gleneagles moor today and a runabout in the garden after she posed for her close up :-) and is now snuggled on the couch sound asleep and dreaming of chasing squirrels!
I have spent the whole afternoon and early evening in the studio painting S & L's slate. It's almost finished but I've reached that stage where I think it's a complete disaster and want to start again, but that's not an option. I am telling myself not to panic as I reach this stage with every painting and I remind myself that it's not god-awful, it's just not finished yet! I am hoping when I go back through tomorrow to finish it, that it won't be as bad as I think it is tonight.
Late dinner for us then a wee hour of relaxation before bed and hitting the ground running tomorrow to get the slate finished and starting to pack for Harris & Lewis.
