Palm Tree

I'm used to seeing rows of these silly palm trees along the top of a ridge where I grew up in Southern California, but a single one on a residential street is quite silly. It always makes me laugh when I drive by it.

We had a nice walk with Spike in Howarth Park along the shore of Lake Ralphine*, a quick trip to the grocery store (minor miracle) and a little work on a couple of quilt blocks I didn't like and needed to change filled much of the rest of the day. I honestly don't know what we didi the rest of the day.

John's shoulder pain seems to have gone as quickly as it came, and he is going to cancel the cortisone injection. I'm very grateful for both. It would seem that Kathy's father's statement, "If they make you wait long enough for treatment, you either get better or die" holds true once again. He was a doctor, so maybe it wasn't just a flippant remark....

I'm now going to carry a little table from the fire garden to our porch because our neighbor who brings home baked cookies just rang the bell.
We moved the chair from the front porch to the porch off the kitchen and Karina didn't have any place to leave our package of cookies! It looks nice to have a chair there but nobody ever sits on it so it seems like a little table might be more useful....

*extra Too pretty for mono.
