A birthday walk

With my best friend in one of my favourite places in the world. A kind of square walk from Friston pond, down to the sea at the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs (extra) and then east up and down and up again, until to Cuckmere Haven, the main blip, back along beside the river Cuckmere, up the the Saltmarsh cafe for a very late lunch, then a bus back to Friston pond. 
It was absolutely beautiful everywhere, including a lot of trees, tiny flowers on the cliffs, and quite a few blue butterflies. 
Not surprisingly there were thousands of other people there, on a sunny August bank holiday, but it didn’t affect us in any way. 
A nice day, I had lots of cards and messages. And one present, some beautiful earrings, so I must get my ears repierced, which I’ve been meaning to do for ages.
