I Witness

By KangaZu

Tiny Tuesday ...

... edible.

I started the day by photographing the tiny monarch caterpillar that can be see in Extras.  He was munching on the edible milkweed.  We have five tiny cats ... plus one jumbo cat ... currently in our monarch butterfly nursery.  Plus several chrysalids.  But we are running out of time to see them all raised and leaving the nursery as we leave for vacation in just over two weeks.

After photographing the monarch cats I had a wander through the garden with the macro to see what else I could find.  And loo and behold ... another butterfly offering.  This is a tiny Eastern black swallowtail egg that I watched being laid yesterday on the dill.  Two of the black swallowtail's host plants are dill and parsley ... both edible ... which I love and also eat.  However, I certainly wouldn't eat this type of egg!  Not exactly edible!  But please have a look full screen.

Thanks to ApolloFly and Nicoiseannie for co-hosting Tiny Tuesday this month.  You always do a bang-up job!
