Robin ( Erithacus rubecula )
A quiet morning round home. Clickychick was helping at the village "Kids club" in the morning, so I pottered about at home. In the afternoon we loaded the car with the clippings of yesterday attack on the hedge. Having got it wrapped up in a ground sheet it was a two person job getting it into the car and from the car to the recycling skip.
The Robin was one of my regular "just in case shots". Robins are unusual in that they are one of the few species in the UK that have increased in the last 50 years - up by 55%. They are found in the whole of the British isles with the exception of a few parts of the Outer Hebrides and the very highest parts of the north of Scotland.
