What I've Done

Caerlaverock Castle

It's a big castle - looks best LARGE

We drove up to Annan to put some flowers on Debs Mum's grave, had lunch at the Annan distillery, then drove on to Caerlaverock Castle.

The clouds seemed to get heavier the whole of the journey, but just as we pulled into the car park at the castle, the heavens opened. Not deterred, we sat in the car for 15 minutes as the rain passed, and we were treated to a lovely sky, with huge cumulus clouds. Had a good look round and in the castle, even walked over to the ruins of the old castle nearby, and just as we got there it poured again. 5 minutes sheltering under a tree let it ease off enough to get back to the car relatively dry.

As with so many historic buildings, there is a good deal of scaffolding over the castle, and I spent a good half hour cloning it out over the final image.

A pretty good day!
