Life through the lens...

Abstract Thursday - Colourful

A lovely visit to Golden Acre Park, Leeds.
We haven’t been since they introduced parking charges, but the carpark was still almost full.
We actually thought that £2.50 was reasonable for 4 hours.

We always enjoy looking at the National Dahlia Society Trials at this time of year, and there were some fabulous ones.
I have made a collage of some of them, but thought this closeup of one of the large pom pom varieties would be good for today’s challenge.
(It must have rained last night)

The rest of the flower beds were still looking good. I especially liked the huge tall white Nicotiana Sylvestris. (See 2nd extra collage.)
I tried growing this once but it only grew to about three foot high.
Also in the second extra collage you can see the display of hanging baskets, and a photo of the tiny toad I nearly stood on.

After a walk round Adel Dam, Yorkshire wildlife nature reserve, we had a picnic before setting off back home.

Warm sunshine all morning. 21C. Started raining on the way back, but didn’t last long enough to do much good in the garden.

Must finish by saying Huge Congratulations to little Grimsby Town Football Club. They won against Manchester United.
12 - 11 on penalties.
What a fabulous last half hour!  Even had me cheering!
