Skinning a Horse

Nothing sinister, just popped over to check the progress on the Kelpies down at the canal. They've now got their heads on and the process of adding the plated skin is now underway. They'll soon look very much like many of the other Andy Scott sculptures around the area.

Still not able to get really close to them to get a proper sense of scale but they're certainly start to dominate the skyline from a good distance away. Noticed they've adapted the design slightly around the base of the sculptures though (from the small moquette versions at least), with little or no gaps in the plates for a couple of metres oe so. No doubt this'll be to stop the adrenalin junkies using them as foot and hand holds and climbing to the top of the massive sculptures. Still, I'm predicting it'll be scaled at some point soon after it opens to the public.

Monday done, nothing for it now but to move directly on to Tuesday. Do not pass go. Do not collect £200.
