Arncliffe and Beyond

What a stunner of a day. One of my favourites for sure.

My favourite walk in the Yorkshire Dales is Arncliffe to Kettlewell, on to Hawkswick and back along the River Skirefare in Littondale to the starting point at Arncliffe.

The forecast was clear and a bit breezy, which was about right.

Lunch in Kettlewell where I drooled over Triumph bikes cruising the main street.

A buzzard soared overhead and butterflies alighted on thistles that had not yet turned wooly. Those thistles that had, lightened their load into the breeze creating glistening stars of thistledown that caught the light as they travelled to unknown destinations.

It was a delightful day, a long day, taking our time to enjoy the Summer while it's here!

More pictures here, including the buzzard!
