Long distance crab apples

When I was walking with M recently at Kelston Round Hill we passed a crab apple tree and she said she’d love to make some crab apple jelly, that the smell of it reminded her of making it with her grandma.  We didn’t pick any, we didn’t have a bag, and most had already been picked.
But this tree is in my friend J’s garden in Sussex, and while I was there, she wanted to pick them rather than have them fall to the ground wasted.  So I brought back a kilo for M, took them round, and she has made this pretty pink stuff which will become a jelly when cooled and in jars.  Hoping to get one:)
In other news - a video get together with my old work team in the morning, followed by a huge supermarket shop as I had nothing but cat food in the house. Then to an afternoon showing of the Roses, a comedy with Olivia Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch.  Quite fun, but it wouldn’t have mattered if I hadn’t seen it.
Then the Orkney film club watched Code 46 - a dystopian bleak future where there is a global network of prosperous city states, which you need correct papers to enter, and the dispossessed live outside of these, making do, living precarious lives.  Again, echoes of now, though it was made in 2003. Very thought provoking.
I’ve found before that it’s not a good idea to see two films on one day, but that’s just how things work out sometimes.  But I remember double bills were a thing many decades ago - which is where the idea of a B movie comes from - the one that was shown first I suppose
