SLOELY DOES IT
I was taking a photo of sloe berries on this blackthorn tree when I realised I was standing right next to a resting Migrant Hawker dragonfly. I'd gone out quite early because I was fed up with not getting out of the house until either the wildlife is having a siesta or the weather is breaking or both, so it was definitely worthwhile.
Extra is mainly to remind myself that I just missed an amazing shot by a couple of seconds. I bet lots of us have done that in the past. I heard a very raucous crying and turned to see the heron, almost upside down with legs up engaging with and seeing off the marsh harrier. Of course by the time I'd focused it was over and they were going their separate ways.
