WELCOME BACK, SOPHIE!
Hello Lovely Blippers,
We heard Mr. & Mrs HCB saying they were going out to lunch today at Wagamama, so we asked if we could come, because we wanted to see our friend, Sophie, who had been in South Africa for a month. They said that only SOME of us could go with them, because it was likely to be very busy and especially at Wagamama at the Outlet - so we drew lots and five of us were chosen - you can see us all sitting behind the sauce and cutlery basket. Well, most of us were sitting behind the basket, but Reeth decided he would sit IN the basket - how very silly, but of course, the sillier the better on Silly Saturday and it would have made dear Admirer laugh. Sophie’s Mum, Louise, was there too, but sadly, Mrs. HCB didn’t get a shot of her :-(
As we said, Sophie has been in South Africa for a month, teaching in a school there and although there were some downsides, she said the school was great and so were the pupils. She told us lots about her visit and said that she had taught the children there to play the game “Hokey Cokey” - she said that the children really enjoyed it and we love playing that game too - it’s such a good game for getting everyone involved.
She also told us that she and the friend who was teaching with her, Ella, painted a huge multiplication table on the wall of the school and then signed their names - it looks so good and must have taken them ages to do - you can see it in the extras.
Sophie did tell us that the best time of her whole life was when they went on safari and saw all sorts of wild animals - we think we might have been a bit scared, but Sophie said that it was very ethically run so the animals came right up to the jeep they were in, because they knew it was safe.
You can see Mr. HCB and Sophie in the second shot and then as we walked in the back door at Mr. & Mrs. HCB’s house, we saw all the other Silly Saturday Gang members waiting for us - how lovely is that. They wanted to know about Sophie’s trip, so we had a mug of hot chocolate and told them all about it. We think we will have to meet up with Sophie again to find out more, but she starts a new job next week, so perhaps in a few weeks time!
Before Sophie went at the end of July, Mrs. HCB wrote out over 30 little encouragement cards for her so that she could open one every day - and Sophie and her friends said they loved them. It doesn’t take much to encourage others!
Having heard all about Sophie’s trip, we think that she and Ella were very kind to all the children, so it just remains for us to remind you all to BE KIND during the next week. You never know how much your kindness will mean to someone who is going through a bad time and then they can pass it on to someone else.
Have a great week and hope you spread lots of kindness around.
Love from P.C. Plod, Winnie the Pooh, Bertie Bowood, J.H. Ted and Reeth xxxxx
