Fruit of the laurel

Today I have been clearing stuff from the bathroom and spare room for when the builders and plumber come to do my bathroom and central heating.

This afternoon it has been raining (the gardens certainly need it).  I saw fruit on a laurel bush as I walked around the village.  My mum had one but I never remember fruit growing on it.  Apparently all but one variety of laurel have poisonous berries so I hope that no-one decides to try one.
