English Countryside

As per my blips a couple of weeks ago, we had to make some last-minute changes then to our travel plans when it became obvious that our new grandchild was going to arrive about 2 weeks early. So although it may seem a bit odd, the best option was for me to have 2 weeks in Toronto, fly back home briefly, then go back again with my Editor very soon.

So last night I took a midnight flight (Toronto time) back to Manchester Airport, arriving a little before noon UK time today, followed by a train home to Newcastle. The rail route I chose took me north from Manchester to Carlisle on an express train, then from Carlisle to Newcastle on the little stopper train. There's lots of lovely scenery on this route, so my blip was taken through a slighly grubby window from a moving train as I travelled through Cumbria.
