Saturday
What a difference a day makes.
I woke to sunshine. We packed up and headed to Swaffham parkrun. It is a 3 and a bit lap course on sports fields, with relatively low attendance, as nothing particularly interesting to attract lots of tourists when the Sandringham estate beckons nearby. We spotted Megan who we chatted to at Blickling parkrun back in May. She has been doing different events since then, working her way towards 25. Marion scanned for the first time and chatted with a couple of the other volunteers. We then drove to Wells for a swim. The carpark was exceptionally busy and there appeared to be a queue for the beach access. We found out that 308 basset hounds were having a meet up. Quite a spectacle. We swam to and knocked on a yellow buoy before heading to where and local open water swimming group meet up. Chatted to two ladies there, one of which was also a parkrunner.
Dumped our bags back at the car and hopped on the bus to take us into town. Smoked salmon bagels at the 2 magpies cafe, a spot of shopping, award winning coffee that Marion described as having a seaweed twang, pastel de nata, icecream, art and giggles. There were quite a few adults crabbing (including some with sourdough pizza and prosecco). Splendid day and almost back in Essex before it began raining
