Monarch ...

... Watch. 

We had this beautiful female monarch butterfly emerge from our nursery this morning ... number 14.  And I had just received our Monarch Watch tags a few days ago so she is the first to be tagged by us this season.  We released her in memory of the two young victims from the most recent Minnesota school shooting, F and H.  Hopefully she is winging her way to Mexico as I write this.  And maybe ... just maybe ... someone will spot the tag and report her to Monarchwatch.org.  Will it be you? 

In other news:  I wanted to put the firmware update to a test today with the dedicated bird detection mode so we headed to a park in Easton where there are often gulls.  Unfortunately, there wasn't a gull to be seen.  But just as we arrived there was a beautiful Bald Eagle flying overhead.  I took several shots of the eagle but he/she was simply too far up in the sky for a decent shot.  I'll have to find another testing ground.
