A good night's sleep in the hotel last night after an OK meal in the attached pub. They're never going to win a Michelin star but what they do, they do well and it was full of families enjoying an evening out.
We didn't stay for breakfast this morning but got on the road and aimed for Milton Keynes where we had brunch, got a couple of things we needed in the main shopping centre, did a bit of food shopping in our old supermarket and bought a car. We then headed for home; I'd read that the road from the A1 to Cambridge was closed as part of the major work at the Black Cat Roundabout but there was absolutely no signage on the A1 to confirm it and the route to Cambridge was still signposted, so I took it. It was only when we got to the other side of St Neots that we hit the closure so I had to go back to the A1, which added about ten miles to the journey.
My shot is of a wooden sculpture on a roundabout near the Open University in Milton Keynes. It is very close to the health club that I used to go to when I lived locally and I blipped it a couple of times in my early blip days; good to see it again. Now back home; it's nice to go away but it's good to get back home again.
