Departure
It's always sad to return home after a marvellous holiday, but especially so on a sunny day like today. We would have much rather had added to our holiday beach list* than driven back to Edinburgh today.
We listened to four episodes of The rest is history on our journey south: one on Oppenheimer, then three on the lead-up to the Battle of Hastings. We stopped in Dingwall for a quick supermarket shop (a) to gather essential supplies to last us to a proper visit to LIDL and Tesco tomorrow and (b) to fulfil the requirements of LIDL's monthly spend incentive to earn 10% off our next shop.
Our return to the house followed the usual routine of unloading and unpacking, then embarking on a laundry marathon. Mr hazelh also mowed the lawn. The best garden surprise was to find that a couple more of the lupin plants that I grew from seed last year have produced flowers while we were away: one pink and the other white.
I have blipped our car and tandem outside our bed and breakfast in Ullapool. We stayed at the Old Surgery and are pleased to recommend it. (We're sure that we will be back there ourselves before too long.)
