The C-word semi-sorted

I made this damson gin this morning.

Rosie gave Ros and me a lift to The Plough at Powburn for lunch at the Running Fox. Luckily I spotted a place by Katy, Dee, Judith and Suzie so they could guide me round the menu. The portions and amount of carbs were huge - everything seemed to come with lots of bread and /or potato. I had a small spinach, feta and pine nut quiche which came with a spoonful of coleslaw. There was a lot of custardy filling, no flavour of feta and it had been microwaved so the pastry was limp. However it was only £7.95 and we had a lot of laughs so that was the main thing.

When I got back I had to take my plants along to Shona to look after as we had no car to get them to daughter. (The car got fixed and was ready late on Friday night - they had to do a lot of work to get on a new CV (constant velocity - I hope you are impressed!) joint for £275). Hopefully that will be the end of the car expense for a while. Shona and Rob are still exhausted and it’s over a week since their son, wife and 2 young daughters went home. I don’t think our children realise we are no longer 45 - they are that and more - and we no longer have the energy we had when they were children.

Tonight we are having FaceTime with Chloe and Graham which is always good.
