Pectoral Sandpiper
The ornithological day started well with a male Sparrowhawk hiding in our garden next to the bird feeder awaiting a foolish sparrow.
We then moved on to Drift Reservoir, less than ten minutes away, and this bird was on the exposed mud in front of the hide - an American wader called a Pectoral Sandpiper. Easier to identify and also in the hide was our neighbour!
