I had a hair cut booked for 11 o’clock and expected the bird seed delivery today. There was plenty of time for an early drive to Bowness for a wander and blip.

At half past ten there was still no message from the delivery company so I checked the tracking. ‘We’re sorry your parcel has been delayed and should arrive on the next working day’. That was fine as I didn’t want to leave the larger of my ‘safe’ places unlocked.

That gave me an idea. If I’m staying in tomorrow for one parcel I’ll put an order in to Amazon and pay for delivery so both come on the same day. I got to checkout and they tried to charge me two delivery fees with the book coming on Friday. A closer look showed that the book wasn’t coming from Amazon. I deleted it and went back to the page. The Amazon price for the book was £2 more but meant only one delivery charge.

Not long after I’d sorted that, a friend phoned asking if I wanted to meet for coffee. We went to the garden centre but the cups have shrunk a lot under the new owners.

Wendy offered me a lift home but I walked as I don’t expect to get anywhere tomorrow.
