A passing squall

We don't normally look after Simone on a Weds afternoon. But as work, school and nursery all get back into action in stages this week, everyone has needed to juggle things a bit.
So I picked Simone up from Jack's after lunch. She fell asleep in the car on the way to ours, as Jack and I knew she would after a busy morning at nursery.
I sat with her in the car while she finished her nap. Meanwhile thunder rolled around outside and heavy rain splashed down.
When she woke up, Richard carried her into the house. But perhaps she'd had a strange dream - or a happy one that was hard to leave behind; either way, she crumpled up on the floor straightaway, wailing for her Dad. Nothing and no one else would do. She wore herself out eventually, and finally accepted the offer of a bottle of warm milk and a cuddle in front of the TV.
Soon after that the skies cleared and she was her usual cheery self again.
