Visitors Ahoy!

What a difference a day makes! The rain had gone east to annoy someone else leaving behind a bright, warm, calm day with a clear sea at Porty where we swam with the guillemots. There were maybe four of them who bobbed along in the water beside us showing absolutely no fear of half clad ladies with loud voices.

Once again Jude gave me a lift home;it is a luxury which I never take for granted. What I do take for granted is going for a post shower coffee in Söderberg watching the world go by.

My son and d-in-l are coming south from Elgin with the twins and all their clobber tomorrow for the start of their second year at Uni and once they have been settled in their new flats, their parents  are staying the night with me before going on holiday for a week. I would consider it a ‘Yay, freedom holiday week’ but my d-in- l is a much nicer person than I and will I’m sure be sad to have left Anna and Fin behind.

Visitors, though, require some sort of site preparation and so I put on my domesticated hat and did the necessary. Why, I want to know do flies and spiders decide my house is where they want to die? and why do they do it in places hard to get at? The exception was the spider in the bath with its 8 legs all crumpled up making it an easy removal for me the undertaker.

Now tomorrow, all I have to do is rustle up a meal for a couple of expert cooks…… I hate cooking more than I hate cleaning but I do have standards which balk at buying a ready meal from M&S. Admittedly it is a great temptation……….
