Hummer

Well, I wasn't planning on this as today's entry as it breaks one of my personal rules - no bird portraits - although I've slipped on several occasions it seems. The photo I took this morning - leaves floating on the surface of a puddle - it rained! the leaves are turning! - was fuzzy and not fit to share.

So anyway, we still have hummingbirds around, although the males with their shiny red gorgets have picked up and left us. What's amazing, or depressing, depending on your point of view, is how ridiculously easy it is for a modern camera to take a high quality hummingbird photograph with just a few minutes of effort (also requires a hummingbird feeder and a hummingbird). I suppose AI could produce a similar image a few seconds, which gets me wondering what's the point? Well, at least I had fun watching the little birds as they zipped around.
