Grumpy Old Man

A new start

Phoned for a last minute appointment at the doc's this morning. For the past couple of weeks I've been suffering from vertigo - I've not had this before and it's so weird! Like being in a space ship en route to the moon! All to do with the inner ear, I'm told. Glad I didn't walk down - we had torrential rain just before lunch and I would have been soaked!

On the way back I popped into Pets at Home for some fat balls and saw that the first stage of converting our Homebase store into Home Bargains was under way - my Blip today.

After lunch I chopped up more of the prunings, filled the bulk bag in the back of the car and took it down to the dump. Fortunately a member of staff was on hand to help me tip it in the skip. One more load and that's it done. Until I take some branches off the cherry tree, that is.

Back home and I sat out in the sun with a cuppa and read a few more chapters of Charlie Boorman's 'By Any Means', the story of his overland trip from Ireland to Australia in 2008. 112 different modes of transport! Quite amazing.

For those who don't like spiders, don't look at my extra. I noticed him on the outside of the bedroom window, lit up in the sun, and couldn't resist taking his picture!
