Bookends
Today was the monthly 'Bookends' Festival (so-called) at the Victory Hall in Benderloch. It's always on the 3rd of the month, regardless of the day, which makes it easy to remember but maybe makes it difficult for some folk to attend. Though if it was always on the same day, then some folk might never come! Hard to say.
Today we had a local author, James Knox Whittet, whose book, 'Circles of Light', has not long been published. It's the story of his childhood on the island of Islay. MrsM and I had our honeymoon on the island back in 1973, so I was quite interested to hear him and bought his book.
As usual I took a box of books in, maybe ten, and brought home three in exchange, including one of the Time-Life books, 'The World's Wild Places', 'Borneo', which wasn't in my collection. I now have 28, though there are still a few to go!
Back home just before the rain began, though it didn't come to much. Always an interesting day.
