Eternal guard
I didn't have a perfect night, but this morning I was feeling well enough to go for a walk today. We took the hidden path from the campsite to the church. At the church the statue on the war memorial was in better light than previously, so I took a picture of the eternal guard with the chapel of Mont Saint-Michel in the background. Unlike the typical French war memorial, this one has an unusual message:
aux enfants de botmeur victimes de la grande guerre
or
to the children of Botmeur who were victims of the Great War
We then walked though a few villages and up to the same ridge as previously, but this time we went south-west rather than north-east.
The extras are the chapel on top of the hill from a distance, another cooked sandstone outcrop and then finally the chapel close up at the top of the hill. On a clear day you can almost see all of Finisterre from up here - we didn't. We did find a €2 coin though!
We dodged the rain all day and had a good walk and stayed dry - which is always a bonus. After the walk we went back to the community hub, and I had another brew while reading another BD.
Went to bed feeling a lot better. Back Blip.
