Huelgoat plutons
This morning started with several trips to the loo. We packed the tent up which was mostly dry and left camp. I got about two steps from the camp and had a highly unexpected incident so had to make another trip to the loo and a quick change... It was a total surprise and not fun, but I did feel a lot better afterwards...
We then cycled 15 km, mostly downhill to Huelgoat where we set our camp up again. There was just one climb - up to the highest village in Brittany, but it wasn't long or steep as Brittany isn't very high anywhere... Huelgoat is larger than Botmeur so has actual services and such.
Today's back blip are some granite plutons (intrusions) that the area is famous for. Apparently they are bubbles of hot rock that rose up through softer rocks and some of them are as deep as 30 km, with only the top few metres visible! The result is that the landscape is covered with giant boulders some of them over several hundred tonnes - to which many silly names and myths have been attached!
Once we'd set-up and had a look around buying things from actual shops - we did a load of laundry and returned to camp for dinner. When we camp we only take half as much clothes as we need, so we always plan to do a load of laundry about half way round. Every gram on the bike has to be accounted for as it has to be moved by legs alone.
