Died : 5th September 1997.
Status : Nun, Missionary.
Patron Saint of : World Youth Day.
Saint Mother Teresa is honoured and remembered as one of the best known, kind hearted Catholics of the 20th century. She devoted her life to serving God with humanitarian work in Calcutta, where there was the tragic Indian urban poverty, during the Bengali famine of 1943 and ongoing need for community charities to help create works of Mercy in dreadful circumstances. The suffering and loss of life was extreme.
Saint Mother Teresa established The Missionaries of Charity in 1950 in the Calcutta slums, with 600 missions in 123 countries. In 1979 she was honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize.


The sunshine is beautiful this Friday morning and there is a gentle breeze. It rained a little, earlier. In the living room it is 19c and nearly 70f in the conservatory.

The cats are well and happy.

I hope to read and find some useful indoor things to do. That will include vacuuming the downstairs rooms.
