Apologies as this is posted a day late since we didn't have WIFI on our first night in the cottage.
On our first holiday on Skye in July 2017, our daughter J, came across what she called dinosaur footprints on An Corran Beach (my entry on 22/7/17). Little did we know that, that is what they were. She discovered others on the rocky beach in front of our rented boathouse last year too.
After 7 years of holidaying on Skye, this year we rented a cottage on Harris. Mainly due to car ferry sailing times, it took much longer to get to Harris and after dinner we went for a short walk. A path took us up a hill amongst the peat where we came across this plaque of the Achmore stone circle.. Of course we had to explore further and with the help of her mobile, J discovered the story behind the stones. You can read about it on the internet. They are part of a megalith. I blipped 2 of the stones a glorious sunset and sleeping beauty in the far distance. .
