Les Hanois

Alice and I had a dental appointment this morning - we didn't manage to go while we were in France, but all was well :-)

I did more sorting and putting things away. We have another van-load of recyling to get rid of!

Late this afternoon, J, N, Alice and I went on an Island RIB voyage. One of Alice's local school friends were on the boat too, and they seemed to be happy to see each other. The boat took us down to and along the South Coast, stopping a few times where we learned interesting facts and local history. Then it was out to Les Hanois lighthouse, where we stopped again. I love all lighthouses, and will always blip them if I'm anywhere near one! We learned some interesting facts and legends about the light and its keepers.

We went all around the light before returning via the same route - but with different stops! A lovely flat sea with just a gentle breeze, although it got a bit cool as we went around St Martins Point and back up the East Coast back to St Peter Port.

After a brief stop at Fermain, we speeded up and did some exciting tight turns and figure-of-eights, before heading back to the harbour.

There was a mist hanging around all day, so things weren't as clear as they could have been, but the view of the harbour from seaward is always....just great.

I asked Alice if she had enjoyed the trip. "Only the last bit when we did those circles".
