Day 5: On which we revisit the past again with happier results.

A great day out at the Laurel and Hardy museum in Ulverston. As a family we are huge Laurel and Hardy fans so this was a real highlight of our holiday. Sporty Boy used to be completely obsessed and would watch our box set of films on a constant loop. His speech was littered with quotes which would baffle everyone but me and his dad and we thought we had turned him into a strange little boy for quite a while there, until he discovered Scunthorpe United, which is a much more healthy obsession. He does still yell, "I don't want you, I want the other monkey" from time to time but is now well used to the strange looks this garners from passers by.

Big Bloke and I visited the original Laurel and Hardy museum 21 long years ago, on the day that he proposed to me, so the memories are very good ones. And just like Stan and Ollie, we are still the best of pals, even though we drive each other crazy on a daily basis.
