A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

Coventry

Spent most of the day doing various DIY jobs in Coventry. Having an hour or so to spare, and wanting to not just travel to do the DIY, I braved the Ring-of-Doom that is the central road system and went to visit the cathedral as we'd done when M first arrived here.

This shot is of the Golden Cross pub, one of a number of ancient buildings, some medieval, that remarkably survived the bombing of the cathedral (and the 60's).

You can see a little further along, here, c/o Ellisroger.

A14 was scattered with several accidents on the way back - mostly shunts in the queue resulting from the original accident. That one was cleared by the time I got there but it was sad to see a car sporting a P plate caved in at the back - suggesting that the ex-learner had stopped in time but the 'experienced driver' behind had driven straight in. I feel for the new driver's devastating loss of confidence now.
