"'COS I'M THE DIESEL- Here me knockin".Starlilight

Whenever I see engines like this, I always think of The Diesel Song from Starlight Express. The character is called Greaseball, and if you haven't taken your children to see the show, shame on you. Over the years we have seen the live action over 5 times and it has changed each time. Anyway enough about that.

The above photo is taken at Minehead from the car park of Morrisons where we found ourselves this morning. We had run out of Phoebe's food so we took a trip out in 'the beast' . The weather was cooler but sunny and the traffic chaotic. After all it's still holiday season over here and this area is known as the Riveriera of the West.

Now because I'm not technical, Mr A has given me all the info. (In a previous life he was researching railway history). WARSHIP - Diesel-Hydraulic locomotive, BR Class 42. (0821/0832) built in Swindon 1958-1961. And for all the technical bods= 79 tons. power - 2000HP. This is one of only two remaining. All withdrawn by 1972. Based on a GERMAN Class V200 design.

On the right is a WESTERN CAMPAIGNER - BR Class 52 - D1010, replaced the "Warship" Class. Built 1961 - 1964, in Swidnon. Weight 110 tons. Power - 2700 HP. Withdrawn 1977. Top speed 102mph. One of only 7 remaining.

So that's all the technical stuff. The rest of the day was spent chilling out as much as possible. Mr A mowed the lawn and I continued wrestling with the dress I'm still trying to create for my new Daughter-in law.

After yesterday's hectic schedule, it was good to catch up with washing etc. and generally gear up for the week ahead. Although the sun has shone, the wind has been cold and there is a definate autumn tinge in the atmosphere.

After the amazing summer we've had, dreading feeling cold again.

Hope you've all had a super day. Thank you for dropping in and sorry it's all a bit technical today for all those interested in nostalgia - yawn.

Until we 'meet' again. Stay healthy, happy and it costs nothing to smile. It's actually better for your face muscles than looking miserable.
