Kipper Cabin

back there, behind the potting shed

It's two years since, but I'm still rather pleased with myself for this bit of blood, sweat 'n tears.

Kipper Cabin had a slate patio between the potting shed and the pond when I bought it. It was very prim and well kept, and there was thyme massing between the slates, so when you dragged your feet across it there was an aroma sent up. Lovely!

But then a young Fred started lifting the slates to have a look underneath, for things that don't like daylight ... like grubs and worms and ... eewwwww! Eventually the slates were all askew and trippy.

Behind the potting shed it was all mud and moss and spider webs and broken pots and ... eewwwww! So I jet sprayed it down, leveled the ground with pea gravel, dragged the slates around the back, lightly powdered it with cement, had a wee barby deck built across the gap left behind (a glimpse here) ... and now it's rather pleasant back there, behind the potting shed.

I don't have any enhancing software, so I gave it bit of hose to enhance it. It's not usually quite so shiny. It's hard to control hose enhancement.

It's nice back there with a book and a beverage on a scorcher of a day. Solid footing too.
