Quod oculus meus videt

Early leaf fall, River Barle

A really early start (4:30am) and a trip up to Dunkery Beacon with the hope of a star shot. All looked good until the fog rolled in obliterating the sky above. By the time it cleared the pre-dawn light had destroyed the darkness.

So on towards Tarr Steps and as I crossed Winsford Hill the mist was lying below me. I'll put a couple of shots on my blip folio. The river valley was clear of mist but a stubborn layer of cloud above didn't make for the greatest of light. In the end I plumped for this shot. Cliched I know but I liked the depth of tonality in the image.
