Journey Through Time

Auntie's Yard

This is part of my auntie's backyard. Bill was so good to help her by taking out 3 large shrubs that were overpowering her small yard and then planted the two that we had gotten the other day. I took her on errands while Bill did the manual labor and then we brought back lunch and finished up the project. It was a full day deal, probably more than Bill bargained for, but he was a good sport and she is so grateful. It does look tons better! I came up with the idea of moving one of her large pots over in the corner and then she can change that around to suit her with the seasons or eventually put in an evergreen shrub, or whatever strikes her fancy. The plant that is there is chrysanthemum's with some decorative grass, which will bloom out and add some fall color. Bill also added some sod which evened up the grass area and it makes that look so much bigger. It's amazing what several small changes can do to up the "curb appeal", even though this isn't seen from the curb. This is the fence that my aunt mostly painted herself.

Last night it just poured buckets as a thunderstorm rolled in during the night. That's two of them that came in in the wee small hours of the morning. We may get more before this weather pattern clears up.

Gotta go feed the man. He was an extra special good boy today.

Tomorrow...BEACH TRIP! YAY. Postponed for better weather next week. We will get there eventually..

See ya
