Cawing the hour

This animatronic crow on the clocktower at the entrance to a shopping precinct in Abergavenny caws the hour. I caught it doing so at midday after our walk this morning.

We went out for a very special lunch at The Walnut Tree, our favourite place for a treat. It began with pisco sours. More on OB's blip here. My starter was "Robert Carrier's paté", otherwise I had the same as OB. We could have been at a restaurant somewhere in la France profonde, so satisfying was it.

We walked home across the golf course and I have been sitting in the garden since enjoying Maggie O'Farrell's novel Instructions for a Heatwave, which is totally engrossing.
