Viper's Bugloss - Echium vulgare

I first photographed this plant soon after it came into bloom on the 21st June (but it didn't make the blip).

This plant is still flowering two and a half months later. It is much larger now and the basal leaves have died but it is still attracting bumblebees.

I sat focussed on this flower for several minutes but a bee never came into shot so here it is without the bee.

The only alternative was yet another butterfly (peacock) but I thought I'd spare you that.
